On behalf of the Delmarva Irish American Club, I would like to invite your organization to participate in Ocean City’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This year’s parade will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009, our 29th anniversary!
As usual, our parade will begin promptly at 12 Noon and, as you know, we never vary from a prompt start. The parade line up will begin on 61st Street and proceed south to 44th Street. The reviewing and judges stand will be on the 45th Street Shopping Center parking lot. Our local television cable company, Comcast, will be filming the parade for television viewing throughout the following weeks.
The 45th Street Shopping Center will be transformed into an Irish Festival complete with LIVE Irish entertainment, dancers, face painting, Irish apparel and plenty of food and drink. Festivities will begin at 11 AM and will remain open through 4 PM.
This year’s parade committee will award trophies for:
- BEST MARCHING BAND
- BEST COMMERCIAL FLOAT
- BEST NON-COMMERCIAL FLOAT
- BEST MOTORIZED UNIT
- BEST ADULT MARCHING UNIT
- BEST YOUTH MARCHING UNIT SPECIAL COMMITTEE AWARD
- BEST OVERALL ENTRÉE IN THE PARADE
